Qualifications

• 4+ years in P&C subrogation or claims recovery.
• Ability to manage a recovery portfolio independently through settlement and collection.
• Strong knowledge of negligence, liability, and subrogation principles.
• Proven skill in drafting persuasive recovery demands.
• Excellent written communication and prioritization abilities.

Responsibilities

• Review claims to identify subrogation and other recovery opportunities.
• Investigate liability, assess fault, coverage, and collectability.
• Gather evidence from notes, policies, photos, reports, and invoices.
• Develop and execute recovery strategies based on evidence and deadlines.
• Prepare demand packages and respond to liability/damages disputes.
• Negotiate settlements with insurers, third parties, and representatives.
• Track statutes, deadlines, and escalate legal questions when needed.
• Coordinate with counsel, experts, and recovery vendors as required.
• Preserve evidence and recovery rights with claims handlers early in lifecycle.
• Maintain documentation, forecasts, and timely status updates in CMS.
• Track settlements and reconcile recoveries for file closure.
• Suggest workflow improvements for referral criteria and recovery practices.
