Job summary

IFSA (Institute for Study Abroad), a US-based nonprofit, seeks a part-time Student Engagement Intern for remote work in the USA. You will support the admissions cycle, maintain applicant communications, and help expand program outreach.

The role involves creating content, assisting with departures, and collaborating with Enrollment Counselors to prepare students for study abroad, while advancing IFSA’s commitments to inclusive excellence.

Qualifications

• Current undergraduate or graduate student.
• Experience interacting with cultures different than your own is required.
• IFSA Alumni preferred; personal international experience required.
• Contagious enthusiasm for IFSA’s mission and commitments.
• Ability to work independently, be proactive, and set priorities.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with diverse communities and cultures.
• Understanding of U.S. college students and their interests.
• Sales and customer service oriented.
• Ability to relate to students with diverse lived experiences including underrepresented groups.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience in Salesforce is helpful but not required.
• Authorized to work in the USA and located in the USA for the internship duration.

Responsibilities

• Support the application cycle, including submitting student applications and processing transcripts.
• Correspond with applicants via phone, email, and texts to assist with the process.
• Collaborate with the team to enhance outreach to applicants.
• Maintain detailed correspondence records and data in Salesforce; prepare reports.
• Help develop content for communication campaigns and student platforms.
• Create graphics to support advising on housing, registration, and study areas.
• Foster IFSA’s commitments of inclusive excellence and intercultural agility.
• Serve as a liaison between students and the IFSA Student Engagement team.
