Job summary

IES Communications is seeking an Experienced Structured Cable Estimator to support sales and project teams in developing design and engineering solutions for bids and ongoing work. The Estimator will prepare comprehensive cost estimates, perform site walks, and coordinate with vendors to ensure timely, accurate bids and deliverables.

This role emphasizes blueprint interpretation and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Must interpret blueprints and project documents.
• Experience with electrical/structured cabling projects preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to design and estimate using company software.
• Role requires travel within territory.

Responsibilities

• Provide complete project engineering, select materials, and define labor basis; write scope of work and develop cost estimates.
• Attend site walks and pre-bid meetings; track site visits and conditions for design inputs.
• Liaise between sales, PM, and operations to ensure alignment of sales price and installation costs.
• Collaborate with vendors to obtain best solutions, pricing, and lead times.
• Provide floor plan takeoffs and project applications per company guidelines.
