Job summary

Tetra Tech, Inc. is seeking a Mid-Level Structural Engineer to join our High-Performance Building division.

This full-time role supports a range of construction types and industry sectors, collaborating with engineers, architects, and project managers to deliver structural design and analyses. The ideal candidate will have an ABET-accredited structural engineering degree, 4+ years of experience, EIT certification, proficiency in Revit and analysis software, and a willingness to travel up to 5%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from ABET-accredited college/university with emphasis on Structural Engineering.
• 4+ years of relevant structural engineering experience in the A&E plus govt contracting/consulting industry.
• EIT certification required; must be eligible to sit for the PE exam within 12 months.
• Working knowledge of structural steel, composite deck, reinforced concrete, and masonry design.
• Proficiency with Revit, RISA-3D, SAP2000, and Bluebeam.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• A valid driver's license and clean driving record are required for this position
• Willingness to travel to client offices and project sites as needed (5%).
• Must be a U.S. citizen.

Responsibilities

• Support the structural design and analysis of facilities projects under the guidance of senior staff.
• Lead portions of design work and contribute to multi-disciplinary project teams.
• Design structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and foundation systems for new buildings.
• Prepare structural calculations, drawings, and specifications per codes and standards.
• Perform field investigations and assist in writing condition assessment reports.
• Coordinate with architects, other engineering disciplines, and stakeholders during design.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate drafting efforts.
• Model structural systems in Revit and assist with BIM coordination.
• Design in compliance with local/state codes; support adherence to UFC guidelines.
• Use software like RISA for analysis and design tasks.
• Assist in managing project schedules and deliverables to ensure on-time completion.
