Job summary

Affirm is seeking an Analytics Lead, Strategic Insights for Compliance Shared Services to own compliance analytics and automated monitoring. You will translate regulatory obligations into automated checks and guide a data analyst, while coordinating across Compliance, Legal, Engineering, Product, Internal Audit, and bank partners.

The role emphasizes evidence-grade rigor and proactive automation. The position reports to the Senior Manager, Compliance Programs and supports regulatory examinations

Qualifications

• 5+ years in compliance analytics, monitoring or surveillance, or a similar data role in consumer lending, banking, fintech, or regulated industry.
• Advanced SQL and hands-on experience with a modern cloud data stack such as Snowflake and Databricks, including building and operating automated pipelines, dashboards, and data quality checks.
• Working knowledge of consumer credit regulations such as TILA/Reg Z, ECOA/Reg B, EFTA/Reg E, FCRA, SCRA, MLA, TCPA, and state lending, licensing, and usury requirements, and the ability to convert those obligations into data logic.
• Bidirectional fluency: you read a regulation and know the data question it implies, and you read a data anomaly and know the regulatory question it raises.
• Evidence-grade rigor: you reconcile, validate, reproduce, and document your work so it stands up to examiners and auditors, with deadlines.
• AI fluency: you use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate query building, troubleshooting, and workflow automation, and you validate outputs.
• Experience training, guiding, or reviewing the work of junior analysts, with the judgment to coach for independence.
• A builder disposition: comfort with ambiguity, self-directed prioritization, and clear written and verbal communication that translates technical findings for legal, compliance, and executive audiences.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, operation, and governance of automated compliance monitoring and surface exceptions for audit-ready evidence.
• Serve as the primary data owner for regulatory examinations, licensing audits, and bank partner exam requests; define populations and extraction logic.
• Triage monitoring exceptions, distinguish data artifacts from true issues, and support remediation through validation.
• Map automated checks to regulatory requirements and maintain the control inventory.
• Drive the automation roadmap by converting recurring requests into pipelines and self-service tools.
• Steward the compliance data environment; manage data access, quality, and repository documentation.
• Provide day-to-day direction and training for a data analyst; coach for independence and end-to-end ownership.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Legal, Product, Internal Audit, and bank partners to expand coverage across products and jurisdictions.
