Job summary

US Foods is seeking a Project Manager – Store Development to lead end-to-end store construction and renovation projects. You will coordinate with Real Estate, Store Operations, Merchandising, IT and Finance to ensure timely, on-scope, and on-budget delivery across markets.

The role is remote, with about 50% travel to new store sites and ongoing facilities work. A minimum of five years in retail management or project management is required, with proficiency in MS Project, Excel and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• Five years of retail management or five years related project management.
• Proven track record managing multiple concurrent projects in diverse geographies.
• Must be available for overnight work and travel (50%).
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, permitting processes, retail operations, and ADA/code compliance.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Excel, AutoCAD or equivalent PM tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all phases of remodels, store refurbishments and facility maintenance projects.
• Develop and maintain project plans including timelines, budgets, scope, and resource allocation.
• Collaborate with Real Estate, Store Operations, Merchandising, IT and Finance to ensure alignment.
• Serve as liaison between US Foods and architects, engineers, GCs and external partners.
• Prepare estimates, manage capital project spend and budgets ranging from $5,000 to $1m+.
• Lead multiple projects concurrently and monitor costs against forecasts.
• Identify value engineering opportunities without compromising brand standards.
• Track vendor performance and enforce project standards and deliverables.
• Ensure quality control, permits, inspections and landlord coordination are managed.
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure specifications and codes are met.
• Lead workstreams for New Stores across Real Estate, Construction, Legal, HR, Operations, Marketing, etc.
• Create/maintain critical path schedules and resolve delays to stay on track.
• Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Produce regular reporting on project status and financial impacts.
