Job summary

GAINSCO is seeking a State Product Manager to manage 2–4 states with full P&L responsibility. You will shape pricing, ensure regulatory filings, and collaborate with Sales, Actuarial, Marketing, IT, and Testing to drive profitability in a competitive market.

You will build reports and dashboards using Power BI, analyze state-level performance, and lead cross-functional efforts to optimize product positioning while balancing growth and risk. Remote work is supported.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Actuarial, Math, Statistics, Insurance or similar field.
• 5+ years in Product or Actuarial roles in Property & Casualty insurance.
• 2+ years in state management (personal auto preferred).
• Experience executing pricing changes and regulatory filings.
• Knowledge of insurance concepts, pricing plans, underwriting rules and key metrics.
• Proficiency with SQL, SAS, or Python; Power BI/Tableau is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own P&L for assigned states and develop pricing strategies based on actuarial inputs.
• Execute rate changes and manage filings with Sales, Actuarial, Marketing, IT, and Testing teams.
• Identify actions for unprofitable segments and adjust strategies accordingly.
• Present state performance to senior leadership and track financial metrics.
• Achieve premium and policy count targets; collaborate with Sales for growth.
• Develop reports and dashboards using Power BI; support cross-functional initiatives.
