Job summary

Nationwide is seeking an Associate State Product Manager - Personal Lines to help develop and execute state-specific business strategies that drive P&L performance. You will analyze product performance, pricing trends, and market dynamics, while coordinating cross-functional initiatives and stakeholder communications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in insurance, actuarial science, mathematics, risk management, economics, finance, accounting, business administration or related field preferred.
• Six years of underwriting or product experience preferred; cross-functional experience and data analysis beneficial.
• Strong knowledge of commercial lines insurance products, pricing architecture, state regulations and underwriting procedures.
• Proficiency in analytical tools, relational databases, data visualization techniques, query-based languages and/or statistical software.

Responsibilities

• Assist State Manager with executing state strategies through financial planning, rate reviews, and market development initiatives.
• Prepare and analyze reports on product performance, pricing, underwriting trends, and market dynamics to identify risks and opportunities.
• Develop planning materials for monthly and quarterly state performance meetings.
• Incorporate competitive intelligence to inform pricing and product positioning.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Operations, Claims, Pricing, Underwriting, Legal, IT, and Product Development to ensure timely execution of initiatives.
• Coordinate and track project timelines to support speed-to-market for updates and enhancements.
