Job summary

Burkland Associates is seeking a sales-focused professional to guide startup founders through our engagement pipeline, from first conversation to signed engagement. You will explain how Burkland's fractional Finance, Tax, and HR services meet early-stage needs.

This remote role targets candidates with 2–4 years of startup or finance sales experience, strong communication, and a proven track record of closing deals.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of sales experience in startups or finance-related fields.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Able to talk credibly about finance with founders and CFOs.
• Proven track record of converting leads and closing deals.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage calendar and pipeline.

Responsibilities

• Handle a high volume of inbound leads from founders and C-suite executives at VC-backed startups, advancing each opportunity through the sales pipeline.
• Conduct discovery conversations to assess startup stage, funding, and gaps; recommend Burkland's Finance, Tax, and HR services.
• Build and nurture relationships with prospects, existing clients, and VC partners referring them to Burkland.
• Collaborate with Burkland's CFOs, accountants, tax specialists, and HR team to scope engagements and hand off new clients smoothly.
• Maintain accurate CRM data to keep pipeline, forecasts, and follow-ups on track.
• Stay informed on industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activity in startup services.
