Job summary

Burkland Associates, a remote-first firm serving startups, is seeking a senior accounting leader to scale a fast-growing practice. You will own P&L, staffing, and performance across KPIs while delivering proactive advisory work for diverse clients.

You will oversee inventory valuation, GAAP reporting, and client relationships, guiding a growing team and shaping processes with AI-driven efficiency as the company evolves.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with 5+ years progressive experience, including people management.
• Strong command of GAAP and cost accounting, including FIFO, LIFO, and inventory adjustments.
• Exceptional client relationship skills and ability to manage escalations and spot growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Run division as a self-contained business unit, owning P&L, staffing, and performance across KPIs.
• Own revenue, margin, utilization targets and drive aggregate performance across assigned KPIs.
• Lead regular 1:1s focused on goals, development, and wellbeing; provide direct, ongoing feedback.
• Oversee inventory valuation, reconciliation, and GAAP financial statements for client portfolio.
