Job summary
Grafana Labs is seeking a Staff SRE to own reliability across Grafana Cloud services (Mimir, Loki, Tempo). You will write production code, build automation, and shape design across multi-cloud Kubernetes environments while on-call for top customers.
The role emphasizes blameless post-mortems, autonomy, and cross-team leadership in a fully remote setting. Ideal candidates have 8+ years in software engineering, strong SRE background, and experience with Kubernetes, Terraform/Helm, and SLO design.
Qualifications
- Strong background in distributed systems engineering in production.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes across clouds and IaC tooling.
- Experience designing and owning SLOs and reliability practices.
- Contributions to open-source projects.
Responsibilities
- Build reliability into the product through production code and tooling.
- Create automation and platform tooling to scale reliability.
- Lead technical design and review feature implementations.
- Own and evolve per-tenant SLOs and reliability models.
- Improve observability and alerting to reduce incidents.
- On-call for high-SLA customers and drive post-incident reviews.
- Tackle operational on-call work and recurring issues with fixes.
- Mentor engineers and shape cross-team reliability practices.
