Job summary

Grafana Labs is seeking a Staff Software Engineer - SRE to increase reliability of Grafana Cloud databases (Mimir, Loki, Tempo, Pyroscope) across cloud environments. You will partner with embedded product squads, own production reliability for high-SLA tenants, and lead incident response with a focus on reducing toil and improving observability.

You will leverage modern AI coding tools within secure guidelines, contribute to design docs, and mentor engineers while scaling reliability practices

Qualifications

• 8+ years engineering experience, 4+ in SRE/production engineering, strong customer reliability engineering background.
• Strong Kubernetes experience in AWS, GCP, or Azure and familiarity with IaC tools (Helm, Terraform, Jsonnet).
• Leadership experience, mentoring engineers and driving cross-team initiatives.
• Experience operating multi-tenant systems in production and designing SLOs.

Responsibilities

• Own production reliability for high-SLA environments and complex customer setups.
• Lead incident response and post-incident reviews with customers and teams.
• Design and implement automation to scale reliability practices and reduce toil.
• Collaborate with product engineering to influence design for scalability and operability.
• Build and refine monitoring, alerting, and SLOs across tenants.
