Job summary

Grafana Labs, a remote-first company, seeks a Senior Backend Engineer for databases (Loki) in the EMEA region. You will design, build, and operate backend services in Go, deployed on Kubernetes, contributing to Mimir, Loki, Tempo, and Pyroscope components.

You’ll own features end-to-end, participate in on-call, collaborate with a global team, and leverage modern AI tools to improve performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Solid experience in at least one programming language; Go preferred.
• Experience delivering software in cloud environments and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and Docker is a bonus.
• Ability to work in a remote-first, globally distributed team.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, operate, and maintain critical backend systems.
• Own features from ideation through to production and monitoring.
• Improve reliability, performance, and availability of databases services.
• Participate in on-call rotations and post-incident reviews.
• Collaborate across teams on open-source projects and cloud services.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and code quality standards.
• Learn and apply AI-assisted development tools in daily work.
• Support customers and internal teams with robust backend solutions.
