Job summary

Owner.com is seeking an exceptional engineer to help build the next generation authentication and authorization platform. You’ll own login, session management, tokens, service-to-service auth, and related APIs and infra supporting product teams across the platform.

This 100% remote role welcomes candidates across the United States or Canada, emphasizing ownership, security, reliability, and the use of AI tools to move faster.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building and shipping production backend systems with end-to-end ownership.
• Proficient in Typescript or Javascript for large-scale web apps.
• Hands-on experience with authentication, authorization, identity, or related platform infra.
• Strong API design, distributed systems, databases, and reliability.
• Demonstrates ownership, urgency, and ability to drive clarity with incomplete requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design and improve authentication and authorization systems powering all product surfaces.
• Own auth infrastructure end to end: login, sessions, token management, service-to-service auth, access control.
• Improve reliability with monitoring, dashboards, and runbooks for critical access flows.
• Raise the security bar by identifying risks and enforcing solid controls from day one.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate coding, reviews, and automation.
• Collaborate with teams to interview candidates and share technical context.
