Job summary

Owner is a remote-first, global company building the next generation of identity and access systems for the restaurant ecosystem. This 100% remote role can be based anywhere in the United States or Canada, with a focus on secure authentication and authorization across all product surfaces.

You will own end-to-end auth infrastructure, collaborate across product and security teams, and help scale our platform while maintaining high reliability and security standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building production backend systems and owning services end to end.
• Proficient in Typescript or Javascript for web-scale apps.
• Hands-on experience with authentication, authorization, identity, or similar platform infra.
• Strong API design, distributed systems, databases, and observability.
• High sense of ownership and urgency, able to drive clarity with imperfect requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design and improve authentication and authorization systems across the platform.
• Own critical auth infrastructure end to end (login, sessions, token management).
• Improve reliability and observability with alerts and dashboards.
• Raise security bar by identifying risks and controls.
• Leverage AI tools to move faster in code writing and reviews.
• Help build a great team by interviewing and providing technical context.
