Job summary

The Cigna Group is seeking a Staff Pharmacist for a remote role that requires residing and being licensed in AZ, FL, IN, or OH. Training runs 8 weeks, Mon-Fri 8:30 am–5 pm EST with one evening shift after training.

You will verify prescriptions, contact prescribers, and support patients with medication use and interactions. During training and beyond, you will handle calls about lost orders or dispensing errors, maintain production and service levels, and may train junior staff.

Qualifications

• Current pharmacist license in good standing in state of residence.
• Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to resolve issues.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret prescriptions.
• Strong focus on customer service, quality and accuracy.
• Ability to manage timelines and meet tight client deadlines.
• Ability to adapt in a changing environment.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule for peak volume times.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients regarding the use of medications and potential drug interactions.
• Contact physicians for new and/or transfer authorization.
• Collaborate with physicians to convert prescriptions to generic or preferred drugs whenever possible.
• Interpret physicians' or prescribers' prescriptions.
• Contact doctors and/or patients to verify information on prescriptions such as drug strength, prescription sig., and drug name to expedite processing.
• Verify prescription information entered in the system by data entry or order entry.
• Back up other pharmacists as needed, perform additional duties as assigned by management, or train less experienced pharmacists.
