Job summary

Cigna Health and Life Insurance Company is seeking a Staff Pharmacist for a remote role open to licensed pharmacists in AZ, IN, OH, FL or TN. Training begins 11/2/26 with an 8-week program, hours 8:30am–5pm ET.

After training, schedules will be assigned. The role includes interpreting prescriptions, contacting prescribers, ensuring accuracy, supervising technicians, and maintaining high quality and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist license currently active and in good standing.
• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or PharmD preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients regarding the use of medications and potential drug interactions.
• Contact physicians for new and/or transfer authorization.
• Collaborate with physicians to convert prescriptions to generic or preferred drugs whenever possible.
• Interpret physicians’ or prescribers’ prescriptions.
• Verify information on prescriptions and supervise technicians.
• Back up other pharmacists and train less experienced staff.
