Job summary

The Cigna Group's Evernorth Health Services is seeking a Staff Pharmacist for a remote position. Ideal candidates reside and are licensed in AZ, FL, IN, or OH.

Training runs 8:30 am–5 pm EST for 8 weeks, with after training a M-F 8:30 am–5 pm EST schedule and one evening shift 12:30 pm–9 pm EST. The Staff Pharmacist will verify prescriptions, contact prescribers, advise on drug interactions, manage orders, and train junior staff as needed.

Qualifications

• Current pharmacist license in good standing in state of residence.
• Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to resolve issues.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret prescriptions.
• Strong focus on customer service, quality and accuracy.
• Ability to manage timelines and meet tight client deadlines.
• Ability to adapt in a changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients regarding the use of medications and potential drug interactions.
• Contact physicians for new and/or transfer authorization.
• Collaborate with physicians to convert prescriptions to generic or preferred drugs whenever possible.
• Interpret physicians' or prescribers' prescriptions.
• Contact doctors and/or patients to verify information on prescriptions such as drug strength, prescription sig., and drug name in order to expedite processing of orders.
• Verify prescription information entered in the system by data entry or order entry.
• Back up other pharmacists as needed, perform additional duties as assigned by management, or train less experienced pharmacists.
