Job summary

Evernorth Health Services, a division of The Cigna Group, seeks a Patient Consult Staff Pharmacist for a fully remote role. Candidates must reside and be licensed in AZ, IN, FL, or OH, preferably near local sites, with a start date of 11/2/2026 and an 8–10 week training period.

Training hours are 9:00–17:30 ET, M–F; post-training shifts vary by state and include occasional weekend coverage. The Staff Pharmacist will verify prescriptions, contact prescribers, advise patients on medications, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy required; PharmD preferred.
• Current active resident pharmacist license in good standing.
• Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate with other departments.
• Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret prescriptions.
• Strong customer service focus with attention to quality and accuracy.
• Ability to manage timelines and meet tight deadlines.
• Flexible schedule for peak volume times, including evenings and weekends.
• If working from home, internet must be 10 Mbps down / 5 Mbps up or faster via cable/fiber.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients regarding use of medications and potential drug interactions.
• Contact physicians for new and transfer authorizations.
• Collaborate with physicians to convert prescriptions to generic or preferred drugs when possible.
• Interpret prescriptions and verify information to expedite processing of orders.
• Provide oversight and quality assurance to pharmacy technicians.
• Back up other pharmacists as needed and train less experienced staff.
