Job summary

Sidecar Health, a pioneering health insurer, seeks a Staff Data Analytics Engineer to own data models and pipelines that power product metrics in a Snowflake-first stack. You’ll work with Product and Engineering in a regulated healthcare setting to shape data models early and ensure accuracy and privacy.

You’ll collaborate across teams to define metrics, build AI-ready data, and review AI-generated code, guiding data design decisions from raw data to trusted metrics.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of analytics or data engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Math/Stats/Econ or related field.
• Strong SQL and dbt skills with incremental models and testing.
• Hands-on Snowflake experience, including semantic modeling.
• Commitment to data quality with tests and monitoring.
• Experience working with product teams to define metrics.
• Fluency with AI coding tools like Claude and validating AI outputs.
• Comfort in regulated environments with privacy/compliance requirements.
• End-to-end ownership from raw data to trusted metrics.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain dbt models and semantic models in Snowflake for reliable metric views.
• Build pipelines behind models from ingestion through transformation and align with data engineering.
• Create AI-ready data: semantic models, metric definitions, and documentation for Cortex/CoWork.
• Guide data design decisions with Product/Engineering and model data accordingly.
• Partner with product managers to turn roadmap goals into measurable success metrics.
• Identify data collection gaps and drive resolution with Product and Eng.
• Provide analyses and experiment readouts for feature decisions and performance.
• Use AI tools to speed development and validate AI-generated code before shipping.
• Embed HIPAA considerations and access controls in designs.
• Review SQL, dbt, and AI-generated code for correctness and raise standards.
