Job summary

Sidecar Health is seeking a Staff Data Analytics Engineer to design data models in Snowflake and build reliable metrics for product teams. You will own data pipelines, define metrics, and ensure data quality in a regulated healthcare setting.

You will collaborate with Product and Engineering, use AI tooling like Claude, and help shape the data foundation for growth while upholding privacy and HIPAA requirements.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in analytics or data engineering.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• Strong SQL and dbt skills with testing.
• Hands-on Snowflake experience, including semantic modeling.
• Experience partnering with product teams to define metrics.
• Fluency with AI coding tools like Claude and evaluating AI-generated code.
• Comfort working in a regulated environment with privacy/compliance requirements.
• End-to-end ownership from raw data to trusted metrics.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain dbt models and semantic models in Snowflake that give product teams a reliable, well-documented view of key metrics.
• Build the pipelines behind those models when needed, from ingestion through transformation, and align with data engineering on shared infrastructure and standards.
• Build AI-ready data: semantic models, metric definitions, and documentation that let Cortex and CoWork agents answer business questions accurately.
• Guide data design decisions with Product and Engineering, including what data gets captured and how it’s modeled.
• Partner with product managers to turn roadmap goals into measurable success metrics.
• Identify gaps in data collection and drive them to resolution with Product and Engineering.
• Provide analysis to inform product decisions and evaluate feature performance, including occasional experiment readouts.
• Use AI coding tools and Snowflake Cortex to speed up development and review AI-generated code for correctness.
• Build compliance into your designs, including HIPAA considerations and access controls.
• Review SQL, dbt, and AI-generated code for correctness and raise the technical standard.
