Qualifications

• JD or LLB from an accredited law school.
• Bar admission in Texas in good standing; may require additional licenses for certain boards or federal courts.
• Minimum of 5 years trial attorney experience, preferably in insurance law and related litigation.
• Experience managing moderately complex litigation with favorable outcomes.
• Knowledge of insurance law, workers compensation and/or No Fault law as needed.
• Strong research, writing, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency with e-discovery tools and legal tech.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of litigation for moderate to heavy value claims (up to about $50,000 exposure).
• Lead settlement negotiations and participate in hearings, trials, and mediations.
• Support Senior Trial Counsel and Senior Litigation Counsel through trial phases.
• Develop and refine advanced legal strategies for discovery and trial prep.
• Use e-discovery tools and case management systems to streamline workflows and cut costs.
• Provide clear legal opinions and strategic advice to clients and claims teams.
• Mentor junior attorneys and staff, guiding training and performance.
• Ensure documents comply with MRPC and company policies.
