Job summary

Liberty Mutual Insurance is seeking an Attorney to remotely support Texas-based matters with required appearances. The role focuses on moderate to heavy value civil litigation, including research, pleadings, negotiations, and trial support, with opportunities for mentoring and leadership in a collaborative, compliance-driven environment.

Qualifications

• JD or LLB from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Texas bar in good standing; other boards/federal courts may require.
• Minimum of 5 years of trial attorney experience, preferably in insurance law.
• Proven experience managing moderately complex litigation with favorable outcomes.
• General knowledge of insurance law, workers’ compensation and/or No Fault law.
• Exceptional legal research, writing, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Proficient in e-discovery tools, case management software, and remote collaboration technologies.
• Ability to mentor and lead junior attorneys and staff.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client relationship management skills.
• Commitment to ethical practice and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Litigation management: handle all phases of litigation for moderate to heavy value cases (up to ~$50,000 exposure).
• Conduct legal research, draft pleadings and motions, lead negotiations, and participate in hearings, trials, and mediations.
• Support senior counsel in case handling through trial and all stages of litigation.
• Develop and refine advanced legal strategies for discovery and trial preparation.
• Utilize e-discovery tools, case management systems, and data analysis to streamline workflows.
• Provide clear legal opinions and strategic advice to clients and claims representatives.
• Build and sustain client relationships by understanding client operations and legal challenges.
• Identify and mitigate legal risks in collaboration with clients and senior attorneys.
• Design and conduct training sessions; mentor junior attorneys and staff.
• Ensure all documents comply with MRPC and regulatory standards.
