Job summary

Aegis Mobile is seeking a Staff Accountant to support daily accounting and financial operations for the company and its subsidiaries. The position is primarily remote, but you should be available for in-person meetings at the Columbia, Maryland office as needed.

You will handle accounts payable and receivable, general ledger activity, customer billing, payments, deposits, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years accounting/finance experience.
• Working knowledge of A/P, A/R, GL, and reconciliations.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word/Outlook) and spreadsheets.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to handle confidential information professionally and discreetly.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support daily accounting operations including A/P, A/R, GL entries and routine financial transactions.
• Prepare, review, code, and process vendor invoices and employee expense reports; assist with customer billing and collections.
• Perform bank, credit card, intercompany, and general ledger reconciliations on a regular basis.
• Coordinate payroll-related accounting and benefit deductions; assist with contractor payments and related records.
• Maintain audit-ready accounting records and documentation; assist with annual audits and auditor requests.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close including journal entries, accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and reconciliations.
