Job summary

FreightPOP is seeking a Staff Accountant to support daily accounting operations including GL maintenance, AP/AR, reconciliations, and month-end close. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-growing SaaS environment to ensure accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance and at least 2 years of accounting experience, with proficiency in ERP systems and strong analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of accounting experience.
• Experience with general ledger accounting and reconciliations.
• Experience with accounts payable, receivable, and collections.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy.
• Perform account reconciliations, including bank, credit card, and balance sheet accounts.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Manage accounts payable functions, including invoice processing and vendor payments.
• Manage accounts receivable activities, customer billing, cash application, and collections.
• Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on delinquent accounts.
• Analyze financial transactions and investigate discrepancies.
• Support preparation of financial reports and schedules.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation.
• Assist with audits, tax preparation, and compliance requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business operations.
