Job summary

Arbor Research Collaborative for Health is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the organization’s general ledger, month-end close, financial reporting, and accounts payable in a government contracting environment. The role emphasizes journal entries, reconciliations, ASC 606 revenue recognition, and contract billing.

You will coordinate with the Accounting Manager and program managers to maintain strong financial controls, ensure GAAP compliance, and deliver timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 3+ years general ledger or staff accounting, including 2+ years in government contracting.
• Hands-on Unanet experience including GL processing.
• FAR Part 31, DCAA audit requirements, and indirect rate knowledge.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and reconciliations.
• Advanced Excel skills with pivot tables and lookups.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries (accruals, depreciation, etc.) per GAAP.
• Monthly balance sheet reconciliations across key accounts.
• Support month-/quarter-/year-end close processes.
• Prepare schedules and analyses (budget-to-actual, variances).
• Maintain chart of accounts and organizational structure with Accounting Manager.
• Support labor distribution, timekeeping, and payroll reconciliations.
• Assist with ASC 606 revenue recognition and contract billing.
• Prepare responses for DCAA, DCMA, and external auditors.
