Job summary

Arbor Research Collaborative for Health is seeking a Staff Accountant to manage general ledger activities, month-end close, AP, and project accounting in a government contracting environment. The role collaborates with the Accounting Manager and program teams to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Responsibilities include reconciliations, journal entries, ASC 606 revenue recognition, and processing vendor invoices in Unanet. Prior GAAP and DCAA familiarity are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required.
• Three or more years of general ledger or staff accounting experience, with government contractor exposure.
• Experience with Unanet timekeeping, expense, project, or financial modules a must.
• Familiarity with FAR Part 31, DCAA audit requirements, and indirect rate structures.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and account reconciliation practices.
• Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, lookups, data reconciliation).
• Familiarity with Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200) and Single Audit requirements for federal grants.
• Experience supporting Incurred Cost Submissions and provisional billing rate proposals.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations for cash, A/R, A/P, accruals, and fixed assets.
• Prepare journal entries, analyze results, and support month-end close and reporting.
• Maintain chart of accounts and organizational structure; support labor cost distribution.
• Assist with project setup, ASC 606 revenue recognition, and various contract types billing.
• Process vendor/subcontractor invoices in Unanet; ensure accurate charging to projects.
• Coordinate weekly payment runs (ACH, check, wire) and respond to audits from DCAA/DCMA.
• Support internal and external audits and compliance with FAR and government regulations.
• Reconcile accounts payable subledger to GL and manage accruals at period end.
