Job summary

RethinkFirst in the United States is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our accounting and finance team, reporting to the Controller. This role supports day-to-day accounting, month-end close, and internal controls in a remote-first environment.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years of accounting experience, a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, and advanced Excel skills ( PivotTables, VLOOKUP ). You will handle bank reconciliations, balance sheet and P&L reconciliations, and assist with

• 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP).

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day accounting activities, including bank reconciliations.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
• Assist the month-end close process, including balance sheet and P&L reconciliations.
• Ensure deadlines are met for financial reporting and management review.
• Support external auditors by providing requested documentation.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and GAAP standards.
