Job summary

RethinkFirst is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our accounting and finance team, reporting to the Controller. The role will handle day-to-day accounting activities, bank reconciliations, and support the month-end close.

You will investigate discrepancies, ensure GAAP compliance, assist with financial reporting deadlines, and support external auditors. Remote-first position with nationwide reach; Indiana-based candidates welcome.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day accounting activities, including bank reconciliations.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
• Assist the month-end close process, including balance sheet and P&L reconciliations.
• Ensure deadlines are met for financial reporting and management review.
• Support external auditors by providing requested documentation.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and GAAP standards.
