Job summary

RethinkFirst is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our finance team, reporting to the Controller. The role focuses on day-to-day accounting, reconciliations, and supporting the month-end close in a remote-friendly environment that includes Florida applicants.

You will work with GAAP, collaborate with senior management, and contribute to accuracy of financial reporting while leveraging Excel and Sage Intacct. We offer comprehensive benefits and a flexible, remote-first culture.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance with 2–3 years of accounting experience.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
• Experience with Sage Intacct or similar ERP is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; well organized.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day accounting activities, including bank reconciliations.
• Prepare journal entries with supporting documentation.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
• Assist the month-end close process, including balance sheet and P&L reconciliations.
• Ensure deadlines are met for financial reporting and management review.
• Support external auditors by providing requested documentation and access.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and GAAP.
