Job summary

The Black Tux is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. This role supports day-to-day accounting, prepares reconciliations, and assists with month-end close and variance analysis, reporting to the Controller and collaborating with the Senior Accountant.

We value a self-starter with 2+ years of accounting experience, CPA preferred, and familiarity with Dynamics 365 Business Central. Remote work is available with competitive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of general accounting and/or public accounting experience.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with US GAAP knowledge preferred.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably Dynamics 365.
• Startup environment experience is a plus.
• Inventory experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare month end close reconciliations and journal entries for cash, inventory, revenue, and expenses.
• Assist with monthly operations actual vs. plan variance analysis and related accruals.
• Monitor inventory GL accounts and coordinate with supply chain and warehouse teams.
• Perform ad-hoc reconciliations and analysis for sales, tax, and expenses.
• Prepare tax and license compliance forms (sales, property, franchise).
• Develop and document new processes for inventory, AP, and internal controls.
• Coordinate with third parties for audits and compliance requests.
