Job summary

Arbor Research Collaborative for Health in the United States seeks a Staff Accountant to support general ledger, month-end close, financial reporting, and accounts payable in a government contracting or federally funded setting.

You will prepare journal entries, perform reconciliations, support ASC 606 revenue recognition, and help ensure GAAP compliance while coordinating with the Accounting Manager and program teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of general ledger or staff accounting experience, with government contractor exposure.
• Hands-on Unanet experience and GAAP knowledge.
• Familiarity with FAR Part 31, DCAA, and indirect rate structures.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong time management.
• Ability to meet close deadlines and maintain accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries and reconciliations in GAAP framework.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Manage accounts payable, vendor invoices, and 1099 filings.
• Assist with project accounting, ASC 606 revenue recognition, and billing.
• Coordinate with Accounting Manager and program managers to ensure controls.
• Produce standard and ad hoc reports for management and audits.
• Respond to DCAA/DCMA requests and external auditors as needed.
• Maintain vendor records, payroll/billing alignment, and accruals.
