Job summary

First Due is a remote-friendly company hiring a Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations in a fast-growing SaaS environment. You'll own AP in Ramp, manage expenses, and assist with month-end close from a fully remote US-based setup.

The role reports to the Senior Accounting Manager and offers exposure to NetSuite reconciliations, tax compliance, and process improvements, with opportunities to grow in a dynamic team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
• 1–2 years of accounting experience; internships or relevant accounting support experience encouraged to apply.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• A proactive mindset - you take ownership, ask thoughtful questions, and follow through.
• A collaborative team player who enjoys working across departments.
• Must be located in the United States; Eastern Time and Central Time zone preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for vendors, employees, and state agencies on payments and expenses.
• Own accounts payable in Ramp from invoice receipt to payment with strong internal controls.
• Manage corporate card and employee expense reimbursement process.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations in NetSuite and clear outstanding items.
• Record and code routine general ledger transactions and flag discrepancies.
• Process daily bank uploads to NetSuite and apply payments to open invoices.
• Maintain accuracy of sales and use tax software Anrok and manage tax exemption certificates.
• Assist with month-end close, including balance sheet reconciliations and documentation.
• Support audits, data cleanup, and process improvements.
