Job summary

Her Campus Media is seeking a Staff Accountant to join the Finance team on a contract basis. The role supports day-to-day finance operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and budget administration, with GAAP-compliant processing.

You will contribute to month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting, while maintaining tight internal controls in a fast-paced, remote environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or business, or current student pursuing accounting/business degree
• 1+ years of accounting or finance experience
• Experience with QuickBooks Online and Excel
• Thorough understanding of U.S. GAAP
• Strong accounting, reconciliation, and reporting skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• High attention to detail and ability to meet accounting deadlines

Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end close processes and account reconciliations
• Prepare and record journal entries while maintaining the chart of accounts
• Analyze financial data to generate accurate balance sheets and profit & loss statements
• Work alongside the Accounting Manager to manage day-to-day finance tasks
• Enter accounts payable and log vendor bills; review invoices for documentation
• Manage vendor onboarding and handle payment inquiries
• Prepare and process employee expense reports and help maintain internal controls
