Job summary

ARU is seeking a Staff Accountant to support accurate accounting operations and financial reporting in a developing role. You will own routine general ledger tasks, reconciliations, and close activities while gaining exposure to an insurance-focused organization.

The role emphasizes collaboration in a remote environment, with opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls, and contribute to GAAP-compliant reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field with coursework in accounting.
• 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience; internship counts.
• Working knowledge of GAAP, general ledger, reconciliations, and financial statements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare routine journal entries, accruals, schedules, and supporting docs.
• Process AP/AR and assist with insurance billing and broker commissions.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual closes and with external audits.
