Job summary

Paddle is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to help drive reliability across our platform. You will develop automation, strengthen deployment tooling, and collaborate with product engineers to scale services securely and efficiently.

You will own incident response, runbooks and cost optimisation across AWS, databases, queues, and observability, while championing GitOps and proactive observability practices.

Qualifications

• Significant software development background with production experience.
• Experience shipping and operating production services.
• Strong fundamentals in testing, code review, CI/CD and debugging.
• Experience across the AWS ecosystem with solution architects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain tooling to maximise engineering efficiency (deployment automation, DB upgrades).
• Automate processes to improve Developer Experience across teams.
• Create, test and maintain disaster recovery tooling and playbooks.
• Optionally experiment with AI tools to support day-to-day work with guardrails.
• Handle production incidents and write blameless postmortems and runbooks.
• Monitor, alert and track SLOs; perform hands-on SRE work across services.
