Empower is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer - Data Platforms to enhance reliability, observability, and operational maturity of cloud-based data platforms and pipelines. You will partner with Data Engineering, Cloud, Platform, and Security teams to improve production health, automation, and incident response.

The role emphasizes SRE practices, IaC with Terraform, Python automation, and production incident management across AWS data services.

Qualificações

• 5+ years of hands-on AWS experience supporting production environments.
• Experience in Site Reliability Engineering or related Cloud/Platform roles.
• Strong understanding of SRE principles and production operations.
• Experience with enterprise observability platforms (Datadog, Splunk).
• Strong Python and SQL skills for automation and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on IaC with Terraform and Terraform-based workflows.
• Experience with incident management, root-cause analysis, and prevention.

Responsabilidades

• Own and improve reliability, availability, performance, and health of production data platforms and pipelines.
• Monitor pipeline execution, dependencies, failures, delays, recovery, and downstream impact.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues across AWS data platforms and services.
• Design observability with Datadog/Splunk, dashboards, alerts, and health indicators.
• Lead incident response, service restoration, and root-cause analysis.
• Automate operational tasks using Python; build health checks and remediations.
• Apply SRE practices: SLIs/SLOs, capacity planning, resilience, and toil reduction.
• Use SQL for production investigation and validation; review IaC with Terraform.
• Develop runbooks and recovery procedures; participate in on-call rotation.
• Contribute to cost-efficiency and performance improvements across AWS data platforms.
