Job summary

NationsBenefits is seeking a Manager, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) to lead our US-based SRE team, driving operational excellence across production platforms. This player-coach role blends people management with hands-on technical leadership, mentoring engineers while participating in major incidents and reliability initiatives.

You will collaborate across DevOps, DevSecOps, and Engineering to embed reliability into the SDLC, with global follow-the-sun coverage and a focus on metrics,

Qualifications

• 5–8 years in SRE/DevOps/Platform Eng roles.
• 1–2+ years leading engineers.
• Hands-on incident management and escalation.
• Proficiency with Datadog or similar observability tools.
• Kubernetes and Docker in production environments.
• Scripting in PowerShell, Bash, Python, Java, or C#.
• Experience with Helm, CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• ITIL knowledge and Agile methodologies.
• SQL/MySQL/NoSQL experience.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Lead US-based team of Site Reliability Engineers and mentor staff.
• Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development discussions.
• Own hiring, onboarding, and retention as the team scales.
• Own day-to-day production operations and incident response.
• Drive root cause analysis, problem management, and postmortems.
• Maintain runbooks, documentation, and compliance artifacts.
• Coordinate with SRE leadership in India for follow-the-sun coverage.
