Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University is seeking a Sr. Instructional Designer to lead hands-on design and development of non-credit courses and programs at JHU that support professional development and lifelong learning.

The role manages non-credit projects, mentors instructional designers, and serves as the primary contact for internal and external partners. In collaboration with faculty and leadership, you will design, develop, and evaluate online, blended, and face-to-face courses and materials,

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Education, or related field.
• Three years of professional level experience in course design and development, faculty training, or program/course assessment/evaluation.
• Additional education may substitute for required experience, and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
• Experience with academic course design and course authoring tools such as Storyline or similar is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead project management for timely development of courses or special projects.
• Develop project management plans to ensure quality deliverables meet timelines.
• Mentor or direct other instructional designers and staff as needed.
• Partner with leadership to develop program and curriculum summaries.
• Conduct formative and summative evaluation of instructional content and outcomes.
• Design engaging, multimedia learning experiences for online, blended, or print formats.
