Job summary

Meritus College is seeking a Manager, Instruction and Program Design to lead course design and learner‑support teams in an online, competency‑based environment. The role combines hands‑on instructional design with program management for a growing portfolio of courses, partnering with SMEs and adjunct faculty to translate expertise into accessible online offerings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
• 5+ years in instructional or learning design, with a portfolio of courses you personally built.
• Experience managing people or leading a team.
• Experience partnering with subject matter experts.
• Strong technical fluency with LMS, authoring and media tools, AI-enabled instructional tools, and accessibility standards.
• Highly organized with strong project management instincts.
• Comfortable in a startup environment, creating templates, standards, and processes where none exist.
• Learner-centered judgment, with instincts for where working adults get stuck.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full instruction and learner support workplan within the integrated College workplan.
• Facilitate weekly meetings, set agendas, document decisions and next steps; ensure follow-through.
• Translate priorities into actionable plans, track commitments, unblock issues.
• Represent the program in Functional Lead syncs within Meritus College; communicate progress and dependencies.
• Design and build college courses in the LMS; structure, sequencing, activities, assessments, media, and learner-facing materials.
• Translate competencies into instructional design for online, workforce-aligned programs.
• Create and maintain course design standards, templates, and style guides.
• Design assessments and materials with AI considerations and academic integrity safeguards.
• Ensure accessibility and alignment with catalog and syllabus.
