Job summary

OMG Technology is seeking a Senior Bioinformatics Scientist to develop, validate, and optimize clinical-grade NGS algorithms supporting oncology diagnostics and liquid biopsy. This is a remote US contract role with 6+ months, potential extension.

The ideal candidate has deep cancer genomics expertise, ctDNA experience, strong Python/R skills, and experience with regulatory environments (CLIA, CAP, FDA). You will collaborate with software Eng to deploy scalable pipelines.

Qualifications

• PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or related field with 4+ years in the domain.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize NGS algorithms for SNVs, indels, CNVs, SVs, and RNA biomarkers.
• Design novel algorithms for ctDNA and oncology diagnostics.
• Apply statistical modeling and machine learning to improve assay performance.
• Design analytical validation studies (sensitivity, specificity, LoD).
• Develop and monitor QC metrics.
• Analyze cancer genomics data using Python, R, and bioinformatics tools.
• Collaborate to integrate algorithms into production pipelines (Nextflow, AWS).
• Prepare validation reports and regulatory documentation.
• Lead proof-of-concept studies with assay development teams.
• Troubleshoot and optimize clinical NGS pipelines.
