Job summary

Technology Automation & Management (TeAM), Inc. is seeking a Mid-Level+ SQL Specialist / DBA to provide tier-2/3 support for SQL Server environments, including backups, patching, and DR planning. The role supports federal operations with strong scripting and security posture.

The position is remote with responsibilities spanning on-premises and cloud SQL Server deployments, requiring independent work and cross-team collaboration. Bachelor's degree preferred; current certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years' experience administering enterprise SQL Server database environments.
• Experience with SQL Server including current/recent versions.
• Experience with SQL scripting and T-SQL development.
• Experience with patching, server maintenance, and upgrade execution in SQL Server environments.
• Experience with database backup and restore operations, including validation and testing.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot SQL Server database issues and escalate as needed.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with staff and management.

Responsibilities

• Provide tier-2/tier-3 troubleshooting and routine support for SQL Server environments.
• Support SQL Server solutions including backup/recovery operations, schema management, patching, upgrades, and integration.
• Execute backup/restore operations and support PITR procedures and DR testing.
• Implement security baselines, encryption configurations, and auditing per IT security policies.
• Respond to RFCs and incident tickets via government ticketing system from submission to closeout.
• Resolve tickets within SLAs and escalate complex issues as needed.
• Assist with SQL Server builds, upgrades, and integration efforts (including SharePoint).
• Support proactive capacity planning and health monitoring; identify trends and escalate anomalies.
• Provide DBA maintenance across on-prem and cloud environments; apply patches and validate stability.
• Contribute to weekly reports detailing activities, risks, and issues.
