Job summary

ACCEL Schools’ Virtual Preparatory Academy of Indiana @ Madison-Grant is seeking a qualified Virtual Special Education Teacher to support students with IEPs in a flexible online setting, with occasional in-person state testing and events.

The role requires skills in IEP development, MTSS participation, student data analysis, and strong collaboration with families and school staff. Applicants should have a master’s degree or higher and Indiana certification.

Qualifications

• Masters’ Degree preferred and state certification/licensure required
• Three years teaching experience, with at least 2 in special education preferred
• Strong content knowledge across core subjects and familiarity with state testing standards
• Ability to learn MTSS processes and maintain confidential student data
• Proficiency with common software tools (Google Docs, MS Office) and IDEA compliance systems

Responsibilities

• Assist with the implementation of the IEP for each student served
• Write IEPs in a timely manner
• Participate in MTSS processes
• Maintain student records and files per laws and policies
• Complete progress reports within required timelines
• Schedule and participate in IEP and related meetings
• Prepare and administer standardized tests and assessments
• Collaborate with parents, teachers, and specialists
• Keep accurate grade books, attendance, and behavior records
