Job summary

The Virtual Preparatory Academy of Indiana @ Madison-Grant seeks a Virtual Special Education Teacher to support students through IEP implementation, data-driven instruction, and collaboration with families and professionals. Instruction occurs online with periodic in-person testing and events as needed.

Ideal candidates hold a Master’s degree and state certification, with experience in special education and MTSS processes. Remote role with occasional travel within Indiana.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree preferred.
• Current State certification/licensure in appropriate area.
• Three years of teaching experience, at least 2 in special education preferred.
• Strong content knowledge in one or more content areas.
• Familiarity with MTSS process and state testing standards.
• Proficiency with Google Docs, MS Office, email, and internet apps.
• Experience with IDEA compliance software like Power School Special Programs.
• Ability to learn new technologies and work with data-driven decisions.
• Ability to pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the implementation of the IEP for each student served.
• Write IEPs in a timely manner.
• Participate in MTSS supports.
• Maintain student records per mandates.
• Complete required paperwork within timelines.
• Prepare progress reports and maintain documentation.
• Schedule and participate in IEP meetings.
• Administer assessments and testing as directed.
• Collaborate with parents, teachers, psychologists, and administrators.
