Job summary

ACCEL Schools seeks a Virtual Special Education Teacher dedicated to delivering high-quality education online to students, including those with IEP goals. You will support IEP implementation and MTSS while maintaining records and collaborating with staff and families.

The role requires NM certification, a strong background in special education, and willingness to work in a virtual setting. The program emphasizes 21st-century curriculum delivery and diverse student support.

Qualifications

• Masters’ Degree preferred.
• Current New Mexico certification/licensure in appropriate area.
• Three years of teaching experience, at least 2 in special education preferred.
• Strong content knowledge in one or more content areas.
• Understanding of MTSS process and state testing standards.
• Ability to learn new technologies and tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the implementation of the IEP for each student.
• Write IEPs in a timely manner.
• Participate in MTSS and maintain student records according to mandates.
• Complete progress reports and related paperwork within timelines.
• Work 1:1, in small groups or in whole class sessions with students.
• Provide resources for classroom teachers for areas of disability.
• Attend professional developments as assigned.
