Virginia Connections Academy is a tuition-free online public school serving students statewide. The Special Education Teacher will deliver remote instruction from home, manage caseloads, and participate in all steps of the IEP process in compliance with laws.

The role requires developing and implementing IEPs/504 plans, regular communication with families, and coordination with district professionals to ensure program success. Open to candidates across Virginia with strong tech skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in Special Education or related Education Field.
• Valid Virginia Special Education credential.
• Experience with IDEA policy and/or administration.
• Strong technology skills with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

Responsabilités

• Deliver virtual instruction and manage instructional programs for students with special needs.
• Develop, write and implement IEPs and 504 plans.
• Evaluate tests and assessments, complete report cards and conduct parent conferences.
• Communicate regularly with parents/learning coaches of students with special needs to ensure IEP goals are met.
• Coordinate with teachers and district staff to implement specially designed instruction as per IEPs.
• Provide direct services to students via web-conferencing as needed.
• Schedule and conduct IEP-related meetings in a virtual environment.
• Assist with organizing paperwork and documentation for the IEP process.
• Assist in locating service providers for related services as mandated by IEPs.
