Job summary

Omak School District 19 seeks a WA state certified Special Education teacher to join Washington Virtual Academies. The role is remote, with home-based instruction from WA state, supporting students with IEP goals and providing synchronous instruction via online platforms.

You will develop and monitor IEPs, collaborate with families and staff, and participate in weekly meetings, ensuring progress and compliance while using standard MS Office tools.

Qualifications

• WA State SPED teaching certificate is required.
• Experience teaching students with disabilities preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Maintain confidentiality in all student, parent, staff matters.
• Ability to meet compliance deadlines with caseload.

Responsibilities

• Support parents with placement, online setup, and curriculum issues.
• Develop instructional tools and lessons to supplement curriculum.
• Provide synchronous direct instruction via instructional technology.
• Develop and maintain student IEPs in online system.
• Lead, schedule and organize IEP meetings.
• Communicate with families and colleagues about student needs.
• Administer state assessments and provide accommodations/modifications.
