Job summary

Tapcart is hiring a Solutions Engineer to act as the technical voice with AEs on deals, map brand tech stacks to launches, and own onboarding for developers and agencies. You will draft integration specs, review partner work, and ensure a clear path from discovery to deployed storefronts.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in solutions engineering, strong e‑commerce architecture knowledge, and Shopify experience is a bonus. This remote‑friendly role offers growth and direct impact.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in solutions engineering, sales engineering, or a partner/developer-facing technical role – ecommerce, SaaS, or Shopify ecosystem preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of web and mobile commerce architecture: APIs, webhooks, data integrations, and what’s configurable vs. custom.
• Able to scope an ambiguous ask into a clear spec and communicate options with clarity.
• Bonus: hands-on Shopify experience (Liquid, Storefront/Admin APIs) or agency-side background.

Responsibilities

• Partner with AEs as the technical lead on prospect and expansion deals – scope native vs. custom and give buyers confidence to sign.
• Run technical discovery on a brand’s stack (Shopify plan, headless, subscription, loyalty, CDP, ESP) and map to a launch path.
• Own external developer and agency onboarding end-to-end – docs, environment setup, sandbox access, engagement rules.
• Author specs for integrations and custom builds, review partner deliverables, unblock developers when needed.
• Feed recurring partner and customer needs back to Product as input for the roadmap.
