Job summary

STEP CG is seeking a Solution Architect to lead pre-sales efforts and deliver IT networking and security solutions for customers. The role emphasizes design, architecture, and collaboration across engineering teams to craft effective deployments.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of experience across routing, switching, firewall, NAC, and wireless, with hands-on knowledge of Fortinet, Aruba ClearPass, and related security ecosystems. Travel and remote work are involved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of relevant experience required.
• Experience in layer 3 - layer 7, routing, switching, firewall, NAC, and WiFi, Policy.
• Experience with programming languages such as PHP, Python, RESTful APIs, Ruby, Bash, TCL, and Perl is desired.
• Experience with security and wireless solutions including OSI model concepts and RADIUS/TACACS.
• Experience with vendor ecosystems and network security solutions a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead pre-sales efforts providing technical design guidance and materials for STEP Account Managers and customers.
• Create BoMs, SOWs, and logical designs with thoroughness and accuracy.
• Collaborate across STEP teams to deliver quality solutions.
• Troubleshoot OSI layer 1-7 networking issues and security escalations.
• Attain industry standards certifications as directed by STEP leadership.
• Vet new solutions with manufacturers and contribute to knowledge base.
• Mentor others and contribute to winning solution designs.
