Job summary

STEP is seeking a dynamic Solution Architect to lead pre-sales efforts and delivery of consulting engagements. You will design, quote, and advise on STEP CG networking and security solutions for customers, working remotely with travel as duties require.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in networking across layer 3–7, understands routing, switching, firewall, NAC, and WiFi, and is proficient with PHP, Python, RESTful APIs, Ruby, Bash, TCL and Perl.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in layer 3 - layer 7, routing, switching, firewall, NAC, and WiFi, Policy.
• Experience with programming languages listed (PHP, Python, RESTful APIs, Ruby, Bash, TCL, Perl).
• Knowledge of OSI model, security, and wireless solutions.
• Experience with Extreme, Fortinet, HP/Aruba, and Palo Alto network solutions is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead pre-sales efforts providing technical design and guidance including architecture materials.
• Create BoMs, SOWs, and logical designs.
• Collaborate across STEP teams to deliver quality solutions.
• Troubleshoot OSI networking issues and security considerations in escalations.
• Attain vendor certifications directed by STEP leadership.
• Vet new solutions in lab and contribute to internal/external wikis.
• Mentor teammates and assist on complex deployments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
